Note:
It is good to know that the picture in picture (PIP) function works only for apps that have been prepared for it. Currently, VLC player, Google Maps, Chrome and some other work with Picture in Picture. There is also the youtube Red app, that is capable of PIP, but it is a paid service and it is available only in some regions.

follow the below step to work with the picture in picture.

Step 1:
To turn ON the picture in picture feature for the app, do the following.

              Settings > Apps & notifications >Advanced >Special app access >
              Picture in Picture.

In the normal case, all the apps that support picture in picture feature are in On sate. If it is not you can turn On that. In some cases, you need not want these features, at that time you can also Off this.

You can see in the above picture, so many apps have this Picture in Picture Feature. But all the this we work in these apps not support PIP. Example, During navigation in Google Maps, we can use the picture in picture Feature.

Step 2:
In this, I will show the picture in picture feature of Google chrome while playing a video. This demonstration I am viewing a youtube video in Google Chrome.
Open Google Chrome >  Open any Video
Open the Menu in Chrome in the Top Right Corner and Select Desktop Site Option

Step 3:
One of the important thing that you need to remember is that, you want to make that video PIP that particular video must be in full screen. If the video is not in full screen the picture in picture feature not support.

Step 4:
Finally, press the home button on your phone. Now you can see, the video is on your home screen. You can open any apps, you can play games, you can browse on internet etc. The video is still on the screen.
